WeldProtect Welding Safety Curtains: 5 Sizes for Safer Bays.
Published on 15 July 2026
Autoa has expanded its WeldProtect range with welding safety curtains, giving fabrication shops safety without sacrificing productivity.
WeldProtect retractable welding safety curtains use heavy duty European PVC to shield workers from arc flash, UV radiation, and spatter. The curtains hinge on a single post so a bay can swing fully open for unobstructed access, and retract from the centre or to one side depending on how the shop is laid out.
Why Welding Safety Curtains Matter in a Fabrication Shop
Arc flash and UV exposure are among the most common risks welders face on the floor, and they affect anyone working nearby, not just the person holding the torch. A retractable curtain gives a workshop a permanent barrier, that can still open fully when a crane or forklift needs a clear run through the bay.
WeldProtect is designed to give shops that protection without giving up access. The retractable design means the curtain can be pulled back fully when needed, then closed again in seconds once welding starts. Read more about the full WeldProtect welding safety curtain range here.

Understanding Your WeldProtect Dimensions
WeldProtect curtains are designed to extend, retract, and hinge to suit your bay layout. Whether you are retracting from the centre, stacking to one side, or swinging the curtain fully open on its post, three dimensions determine which configuration fits your space:
- Max Width (A) is the full extended width of the curtain.
- Retracted (B) is the width when the curtain is pushed back to its most compact position.
- Extension (C) is the additional travel beyond the retracted position.
Check all three dimensions against your available bay space before ordering, so the configuration you choose actually fits the space you have.
WeldProtect welding safety curtains are available in five configurations. Choose from curtains 1550mm, 2000mm, 2300mm, 2800mm or 3250mm wide.
Compatible Posts For Every Configuration
Posts are sold separately and come in two options to suit your curtain configuration. The standard post is compatible with WPC.1550 and WPC.2000 curtains. The heavy duty post suits the larger WPC.2300, WPC.2800, and WPC.3250 configurations. Both posts stand 2500mm tall.
Choosing the right post for your curtain size keeps the system stable and makes sure it retracts and hinges the way it is designed to.
