The Solution

Adlux installed a Cobot Laser Welder to support the production of aluminium skylight components. The open cell features a collaborative robot arm and a laser power source, designed for safe operation in a shared workspace.

The system was built to handle thin aluminium skylight components, with minimal heat distortion and strong weld consistency. The collaborative interface allowed operators to load parts and run programs with minimal training. Autoa worked closely with Adlux to customise the fixture layout and part positioning for their specific range of assemblies.

Installation and training were carried out by the Autoa team, ensuring fast deployment and a smooth transition from manual welding.

The Results

Since introducing the Cobot Laser Welder, Adlux has seen a significant improvement in weld quality and process reliability. The cell delivers consistent results across light-gauge aluminium components, with reduced rework and improved fit-up.

Cycle times have dropped on repeat parts, and operators are now able to run jobs with less oversight. The reduction in manual welding has eased pressure on skilled staff, allowing them to focus on other parts of the production process.

The Cobot Laser Welder has become a reliable part of daily operations, helping Adlux meet growing demand while maintaining a high standard of finish.

The IMPACT ON Adlux’s BUSINESS

The Cobot Laser Welder has reduced pressure on skilled welders and improved production flow. Adlux no longer relies on manual TIG welding for thin aluminium components, which has helped eliminate delays and improve consistency across each build.

The welding cell now runs as part of daily production, giving the team a reliable and repeatable process. Adlux is able to meet growing demand with less labour input, while maintaining a high standard of finish across its skylight range.
